How SPx Outdoors collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Who we are
SPx Outdoors FZ-LLC (“SPx Outdoors”, “we”, “us”) runs this website and offers outdoor experiences, gear rental and gear for sale across the UAE and Oman. We’re registered at Compass Building VUNE1363, Al Hulaila Industrial Zone-FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and we’re responsible for the personal information described here. For Oman experiences, Sand and Peak Explorations, our company in Oman and a wholly owned subsidiary of SPx Outdoors FZ-LLC, is responsible for your booking information alongside us. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run our experiences, our shop and this website.
- Bookings: your name, email, phone number, the experience and date, the number of guests, any children under 10 and pets in your group, add-ons and payment status.
- Allergies, dietary needs and health information you choose to share, so we can plan your meal and keep you safe.
- Rentals: the items you rented, handover and return records, inspection notes and photos, and any deposit deductions.
- Orders: your name, email, phone number, delivery address and what you ordered.
- Corporate and partner enquiries: your name, job title, company, email, phone number and the brief you send.
- Accounts and membership: your name, email, a password we store in encrypted form, and your membership details.
- WhatsApp: if you join one of our WhatsApp groups, your name, number and the messages you post there.
- Photos and videos taken during our experiences.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you subscribe.
- Social sign-in: if you sign in with Facebook or Google, the name and email that provider shares with us.
- Cookies: see our cookie policy.
Card details are entered on our payment provider’s secure page. We never see or store your full card number.
Why we use it
- To take and manage your bookings, rentals and orders, including gear handover, inspection and deposits.
- To keep you safe on location and plan meals around your needs.
- To contact you about your booking by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- To run your account and membership, including reminders before it expires.
- To prepare and deliver corporate proposals and programs.
- To send our newsletter and offers, only if you’ve agreed.
- To keep the website secure and meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.
We rely on what’s needed to carry out our agreement with you; on your consent, for example for the newsletter, optional cookies and health information you share; on our legitimate interest in running safe, well-organized experiences; and on our legal obligations. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Photos and videos
We usually photograph and film our experiences and may share the results on our website and social channels. If you’d rather not appear, tell us before the experience and we’ll keep you out of anything we share. If you spot yourself in something we’ve shared and want it removed, ask us and we’ll take it down.
WhatsApp groups
We only add you to a WhatsApp group if you say yes. Everyone in a group can see members’ names, phone numbers and messages. WhatsApp is run by Meta under its own privacy policy, and you can leave a group at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only with those who help us run SPx Outdoors, and only what they need:
- Foloosi, to process payments.
- Local delivery partners in the UAE and Oman, to deliver orders.
- Our newsletter service, if you subscribe.
- Meta (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram) and Google, for messaging and sign-in and, only if you accept the related cookies, for analytics and advertising.
- Partners, coaches and facilitators who help deliver an experience or corporate program, for example a guest list or dietary needs.
- Our website hosting and IT providers.
- Authorities when the law requires it, and emergency services if someone’s safety is at risk.
We never sell your personal information.
Transfers outside the UAE
Our Oman experiences mean some information is handled in Oman, and some of our providers handle data outside the UAE. When that happens, we use providers that apply appropriate protections.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons above. Allergy and health details are kept only as long as your booking needs them, and rental inspection records until your deposit is settled. Booking, order and tax records are kept for the period UAE law requires. After that, we delete information or make it anonymous.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or stop using it for marketing. You can also withdraw any consent you’ve given. Email explore@spx.me and we’ll reply as soon as we can. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the UAE Data Office or, for Oman bookings, to Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
Keeping it safe
We use secure connections (HTTPS), limit who can see personal information, and choose providers with good security. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private.
Children
Bookings are made by adults. Children join our experiences under their parents’ supervision, and parents give us any information we need about them, such as allergies.
Those under the age of 18 must book through, and be accompanied, by a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date below shows the latest version.
