The UAE season opens this Saturday: Dark Sky Camp at Al Quaa

The desert season is back. This Saturday, 10 October, we open the UAE season with a Signature Dark Sky Camp at Al Quaa, a remote desert plain about 90 minutes south of Abu Dhabi and one of the darkest skies you can reach in the UAE without a long expedition.

Why we open the season here

Dark-sky camping is where SPx Outdoors began: a long evening around the fire, good food cooked properly, and a sky that looks nothing like the one you see from the city. The camp falls close to the new moon, so the Milky Way has room to show itself once the light fades.

What the experience is

It is a two-day, one-night camp for up to 20 guests, led by our SPx Experience Leads. You arrive in the afternoon, settle in, eat well and spend the night under the stars with people who came for the same reason. No experience is needed, and everything is set up for you.

What to bring

Desert nights cool down quickly, so pack warm layers, a headlamp, sunglasses for the day, and a sense of curiosity. If you do not own camping gear, you can add sleeping bags, headlamps and more as rental gear while you book.
